Donate to Zarwa for her Ileostomy Closure
Zarwa Bibi's Story
“When my daughter was only two days old, she suffered from intestinal pain and the doctor told us that she needed surgery because her intestine was ripped from several areas. We could not afford it but her life was in danger and we spent every penny we had. Now she needs an ileostomy closure and we are out of money. My husband is mentally-ill and earns very little. Please help us” – Patient’s Mother
Zarwa is one year and three months old. When she was only two days old, doctors knew there was something wrong with her as she was facing a number of stomach issues. After checkup, doctors revealed that Zarwa’s intestine was torn and ripped from several places and after biopsy, it was discovered that Zarwa was a patient of Hirschsprung disease. In Hirschsprung disease, the intestine does not develop properly. When Zarwa was five days old, she went through a laparotomy procedure. Now, she needs an ileostomy closure for permanent relief.
Zarwa belongs to a poor family. She lives with her parents, her brother and sister. Zarwa’s father is a mentally-ill who is not able to work properly. He is a salesman and hardly earns 7,000 PKR per month due to his condition. The family lives in a small house made of mud in the fields of a small village. They have no electricity or gas facilities available and her mother is unable to work because she has to look after her children.
Zarwa’s parents found out about Transparent Hands and Zarwa was scheduled for her first surgery, a Duhamel pull-through procedure on 3rd August, 2019. Her surgery was successfully carried our and she recovered well. Now, Zarwa needs an ileostomy closure so she can finally be pain-free. You have helped her once, we request you to please help her again.

Zarwa Bibi's Story
Zarwa Bibi, 1 ½ years old, was born with intestinal obstruction due to Hirschsprung’s disease. She had her ileostomy made in an emergency surgery on the 5th day after her birth. Her affected large intestine was removed by Duhamel pull-through surgery, which was conducted through Transparent Hands. Now, she contacted us for her ileostomy stoma closure. Her surgery was done at Akram Medical Complex, on 15-11-19, by Dr Naveed Haider. She stayed for 8 days, recovered well during her hospital stay and was discharged in good health.
