Muhammad Ahmed Khan's Story
Muhammad Ahmed Khan, aged fifty-two is a resident of Karachi, who is currenlty suffering from Ankylosing spondylitis (AS). AS, is a type of arthritis in which the patient suffers a long-term inflammation of the joints of the spine. In this form of arthritis, typically the joints where the spine meets the pelvis are affected. Occasionally other joints such as hips are also involved. In Muhammad Ahmad Khan’s case, the medical issue further aggrevated due to a roadside accident that occured seven years ago. At that time his left hip joint was surgically managed with hip replacement and presently the doctors have advised him to undergo right total hip replacement. He shared his tale as follows:
“I got into a roadside accident and got hurt seven years ago. I am working with KMC as a Camera Operator and the local government doesn’t cover medical and surgical expenses of the employees. At that time I sought assistance from Transparent Hands in getting total left hip replacement. It took me years to heal. Now I have unbearable pain in my right hip. The doctors have now advised me to undergo orthopedic surgery which will involve total replacement of my right hip. In these circumstances I am still working and earning about PKR. 32,000 per month. I am living in my parent’s house. With a debt amounting to PKR. 65000 and a family of five members to provide for, I do not believe I can afford this operation. That is the very reason why I have contacted Transparent Hands again.”
Luckily, now that Muhammad Ahmed Khan and his family have been connected with Transparent Hands, you can make this procedure possible. Generously, Donate for Muhammad Ahmad Khan’s orthopedic surgery which involves total replacement of right hip and assist him in having a pain free life.
