Ease Khurram’s Pain Through Herniorrhaphy
Khurram Mushtaq's Story
Meet Muhammad Khurram, a 43-year-old man from Lahore, who has been experiencing pain and discomfort due to lumps in both groins for the past two months. With time, his right-sided lump increased in size and became more painful. Concerned about his condition, he went to a nearby hospital and consulted a doctor. After a comprehensive examination and evaluation, the doctor diagnosed Khurram with bilateral inguinal hernia – a condition where part of the intestine pushes through a weak spot in the groin area. To repair the hernia and prevent it from getting worse, the doctor advised right-sided herniorrhaphy. However, the surgical cost is beyond Khurram’s financial capacity.
If Khurram does not receive the surgery soon, his condition may lead to serious complications such as a strangulated hernia, where the blood supply to the intestine is cut off. This may cause severe pain, infection, and potentially life-threatening damage to his intestines, requiring emergency surgery.
Living in a modest rented house with his wife and four children, Khurram barely makes ends meet. He is the sole breadwinner in the family and a factory employee. His monthly income of PKR 27000 is insufficient to cover the house rent of PKR 10,000, utility bills amounting to PKR 2000, and educational expenses. To make matters worse, he is burdened with a loan of PKR 100,000. During this challenging time, Khurram contacted Transparent Hands and asked us for assistance.
Khurram expressed his plea as follows:
“I used to be strong but now I can barely stand for more than a few minutes without feeling sharp pain. I fear that if I don’t get the surgery soon, I won’t be able to work at all, and my family will suffer. Please help me.”
Khurram’s recovery depends on this surgery. Without it, not only will his health deteriorate, but his family will continue to struggle without a stable income.
Please consider donating today to help Muhammad Khurram get the surgery he desperately needs. Your generosity can restore his health and give his family the hope they’ve been waiting for.
