Ease Shakoor Ahmed’s Neck Pain

Shakoor Ahmed's Story
Shakoor Ahmed, a 45-year-old man from Okara, is suffering from pain and discomfort due to a lump in the front of his neck. Activities like speaking, breathing, and swallowing have become increasingly difficult for him. Shakoor went to a local hospital and consulted a doctor. After performing a thorough examination, the doctor diagnosed him with toxic Multinodular Goiter. This condition involves the presence of multiple large nodules that can cause compression symptoms. The doctor prescribed some medicines, but for long-term relief, he was advised to undergo Subtotal Thyroidectomy. However, the cost of the surgery is overwhelming for him.
Shakoor’s illness can be life-threatening. If left untreated, it may obstruct his airway, cause extreme difficulty in breathing, and may lead to cancer.
Shakoor lives in a modest rented house with his wife and four children. He is the sole breadwinner in the family, works as a daily wage laborer, and makes just PKR 30,000 per month. Their house rent of PKR 12,000, along with utility bills amounting to PKR 5000 and educational expenses of PKR 5000, takes up a significant portion of his income. This leaves little behind for medical costs. Shakoor’s condition is worsening day by day and his financial constraints don’t allow him to pay for his surgery. During this time of need, Shakoor reached out to Transparent Hands and asked for help.
Shakoor expressed his heartfelt plea as follows:
“Each day, I struggle with pain that affects everything I do. I dream of relief and freedom from this illness. I am looking forward to your generous support. Please help me in undergoing the surgery.”
Shakoor’s family depends on him for living expenses, but his illness is becoming an obstacle in his ability to work and provide for them. He is counting on your kindness. Together, we can ease his pain. Come forward and be a light in Shakoor’s darkest hours.

Shakoor Ahmed's Story
Shakoor Ahmed, a 45-year-old man from Okara, had been experiencing increasing pain and discomfort due to a lump on the front of his neck for quite some time. With time, it turned into a troubling condition that made even basic daily tasks challenging. Speaking clearly became an effort, and swallowing food or water often left him feeling strained. Deeply worried about his deteriorating health, Shakoor decided to visit a local hospital for a consultation. After conducting a thorough physical examination and running some essential tests, the doctor diagnosed Shakoor with toxic multinodular goiter. The doctor advised him to undergo a subtotal thyroidectomy. However, the cost of this surgery was far beyond Shakoor’s reach.
He lived in a modest rented house in Okara with his wife and four children. As the sole breadwinner of the family, he works as a daily wage laborer and earns only around PKR 30,000 each month. This modest income is barely enough to cover their rent, utility bills, food, and children’s school expenses. With nothing left to save, affording such a critical surgery seemed impossible. During his time of distress, Shakoor turned to Transparent Hands for support. Recognizing the gravity of his situation, we quickly registered his case and arranged his surgery.
On May 7, 2025, Shakoor was admitted to Evercare Hospital in Lahore. On May 8, 2025, Dr. Ahmed Fawad performed his subtotal thyroidectomy successfully. After receiving the necessary post-operative care, Shakoor was discharged in a stable condition on May 9, 2025.
Shakoor shared his thoughts by saying:
"I am deeply thankful to everyone who stepped forward to help me. Through your support, I can now eat without the constant pain that once ruled my life."
Today, Shakoor is recovering and slowly regaining his strength. Your support didn’t just restore his health, but it also brought peace and stability back to his family. They will always remember your support that changed their lives during such a challenging time.
