Arslan Hizar Hayat's Story

Arslan, a 24-year-old young boy from Faisalabad, has faced tremendous adversity, as his left leg had to be amputated due to a severe infection. Now, he urgently requires a left-through knee prosthesis to regain his mobility and independence. However, his family’s financial condition has placed an overwhelming burden on them, rendering them unable to afford the cost of this life-changing device.

Arslan finds himself unemployed due to his condition, which prevents him from engaging in any form of work. The weight of financial responsibilities fall solely on his mother, who works as a housemaid. She earns approximately 20,000 PKR per month. However, a significant portion of her income, 7,000 PKR, goes towards paying the rent for their modest rented house. Additionally, utility bills amounting to 3,000 PKR further strain their limited resources. After meeting these essential expenses and daily needs, Arslan’s mother has no savings left to contribute towards the cost of his artificial leg.

Arslan said it in a depressed tone:
