Rizwana Bahadur Ali's Story

Rizwana Bahadur Ali, a 21-year-old woman from Hyderabad, is currently pregnant with her second child. She has a history of one C-section and knows the risks involved. She went to a local hospital and consulted a gynecologist. After performing an ultrasound scan and considering her medical history, her doctor told her that she would need another C-section to ensure her and the baby’s safety. However, the surgical cost is overwhelming for her family.

Without the necessary C-section, Rizwana may face various issues. She may face complications such as excessive bleeding, uterine rupture, and fetal distress. Her situation is critical, and a C-section is essential.

Rizwana lives in a mud house with her joint family of five members. Her husband, the sole breadwinner in the family, is a daily wage laborer and brings in just PKR 400 per day. Rizwana’s mother-in-law works as a housekeeper and helps run the household with her son. However, their modest income barely covers their living expenses. They struggle hard to manage their utility bills, food, and other essential needs. They are surviving in extreme poverty and face challenges in bringing food to the table and covering other living expenses. During this difficult time, they have turned to Transparent Hands and asked for help.

Rizwana said in despair:

“It’s hard for me to accept the reality that we don’t have enough money to bring our child into this world safely. I just want to hold my baby in my arms safely. However, the cost of this C-section is something that my husband can’t afford. We are living in poverty and need your support to undergo this much-needed C-section.”
