Iqra Hanif's Story

Iqra Hanif, a 27-year-old woman from Karachi, is in her third trimester of pregnancy and anxiously awaiting the arrival of her fourth child. She is currently over 30 weeks pregnant. Due to her previous three deliveries performed through C-sections, her doctor has strongly advised her to undergo a C-section for this time too. Her doctor has made this decision to ensure the safety of both Iqra and her baby. However, the cost of the C-section is out of her family’s reach.

Without this C-section, Iqra’s life and that of her unborn baby will be at serious risk. Attempting a natural delivery after three C-sections may lead to uterine rupture, excessive bleeding, or fetal distress, which may result in life-threatening complications.

Iqra lives in a modest rented house in Karachi with her husband and their children. Her husband works as a security guard at a private organization and earns a monthly salary of PKR 25,000. With utility bills of PKR 4,500 and educational expenses of PKR 4,000 for their children, the family’s income barely covers their basic needs. Saving for a surgical procedure is entirely out of reach for them. During this difficult time, she has reached out to Transparent Hands and asked for help.

Iqra said in despair:

“Each of my past deliveries required a C-section, and I know how important this one is for my safety and my baby’s well-being. We don’t have the means to pay for the surgery. I humbly request your support during this critical time.”

Your contributions can ensure a safe and healthy delivery for Iqra. Let’s stand together to make a difference in the life of this struggling mother and help her welcome her newborn without fear and financial worry.
