One-and-a-half-year-old Faras, a resident of Kohat, has been suffering from congenital sensorineural hearing loss. His parents realized he was not responding to their voices when he was a year old. His parents took him to the local hospital, where his tests were done. Upon consultation, he was diagnosed with sensorineural hearing loss. The doctor advised him to undergo cochlear implant surgery.

He lives in a small house with his parents. His father is the only breadwinner in the family and earns PKR 20,000 per month. His father’s financial position won’t allow him to pay for the surgical expenses. He said it in a despairing tone.
