Adeel Afzal 's Story
Adeel’s life has taken a sad turn since the amputation of his right arm. It is affecting his physical and emotional well-being. He feels isolated with low self-esteem in the absence of a right arm. His life is full of difficulties because of his disability. An artificial arm can improve the quality of his life. Due to financial constraints, he is still struggling to get a prosthetic arm. Adeel, a 22-year-old resident of Sahiwal, suffered a sad incident 19 years ago. As a child, he was playing in a field of corn when his right elbow was badly crushed inside the corn machine. He was taken to the hospital’s emergency ward, but the doctors could not save his right arm. They had to amputate his right arm. The doctor advised him to get a functional prosthetic arm.
He lives in a small house with his parents and four siblings. He is a poor laborer and earns just PKR 18,000 per month. He is barely managing the household expenses along with his studies. He is unable to afford a functional artificial arm. He said in a depressed tone:
“My self-esteem is getting worse day by day due to a missing arm. I request you to donate for my artificial arm and help me regain my confidence.”
