Aliza Imran's Story

Aliza Imran, a 3-year-old girl from Sahiwal, has lived in a world of silence since birth. Her parents noticed early on that she was not responding to sounds like other children of her age. After a consultation and undergoing various medical tests, she was diagnosed with congenital sensorineural hearing loss. The doctor advised cochlear implant surgery as the best solution to give her the ability to hear.

In March 2025, Aliza underwent successful cochlear implant surgery with the support of Transparent Hands. Her family was extremely happy when she heard sounds for the first time in her life. However, since she was unfamiliar with sounds, Aliza cannot differentiate between them. Her doctor advised speech therapy to enable her to communicate properly. However, the cost of the treatment is beyond her family’s means.

Speech therapy is crucial at this stage of her development. Without it, Aliza’s ability to speak and understand language will remain severely delayed. Early intervention is key, and the sooner she starts therapy, the better her chances of leading a normal life.

Aliza’s father, a police employee, is the sole breadwinner in the family, earning around PKR 45,000 per month. With this modest income, they just cover the household expenses. Despite working hard to support his family, the cost of ongoing speech therapy is beyond his financial reach. Aliza’s parents wish to see their daughter lead a normal life where she can speak effectively with other people. Unfortunately, their financial constraints stand in the way.

With hope and concern, her family said:

“When Aliza heard our voices after surgery, our hearts filled with happiness. Now, she needs speech therapy to truly connect with us and the world around her. We want her to have a bright future, but we can’t do it alone. Please help us.”

Your support can make all the difference in Aliza’s life. With speech therapy, she can develop the ability to speak and thrive like any other child.
