Raheem Khan, a 61-year-old resident of Mardan, has been suffering from pain and swelling in the left knee for the last three years. His condition just got worse over time. He recently went to a local hospital, and after some diagnostic tests and a thorough evaluation, he was diagnosed with osteoarthritis. Osteoarthritis (OA) occurs when the cartilage in the knee joint breaks down. The bones scrape against each other, resulting in friction, pain, stiffness, and swelling.
