Give for Rubina Akhtar’s Below Knee Prosthesis
Rubina Akhtar's Story
Rubina Akhtar, a 60-year-old widow from Lahore, had a life-altering road accident. Her right leg was badly fractured in the accident which led the doctors to amputate her leg below the knee level. Rubina’s world crashed down when she heard about the leg amputation. Rubina underwent the procedure at a nearby hospital. After the amputation of her leg below the knee, Rubina is unable to walk and is dependent upon her family for daily chores. She consulted with a doctor, and he recommended a below-knee prosthesis to restore her ability to walk.
Rubina is heartbroken to see herself in this tragic situation, where she experiences dependency on even minor tasks. Rubina’s husband died a few years ago and she lives with her daughter in a 2-marla house. Her son-in-law works hard to manage Rubina’s daily living expenses. As the sole breadwinner of the family, he faces financial constraints.
Rubina’s said in her desperation:
“I want to live an independent life. This disability has badly affected my ability to perform daily activities. I want to regain my mobility and need your support to get the required prosthesis for my leg.”
Her family reached out to Transparent Hands and we have launched a fundraising campaign for her prosthesis. Your support can transform her world and bring back the happiness she longs for. Let’s work together and show her that she’s not alone.
The below-knee prosthesis would restore her mobility and she would be able to walk independently. We request all donors to help Rubina as she aches to walk again. Your act of kindness can be a ray of hope that gives Rubina a life free from disability.
