House rent amounts to PKR 4,000, while utility bills add up to PKR 2,000. On top of these expenses, they are burdened by a significant loan repayment of PKR 600,000. It is in this confluence of limited means that Saima finds herself unable to afford the necessary surgical expenses for a safe delivery.

With a mixture of hope and desperation, Saima said in desair: “All I wish for is to give my unborn child the best possible start in life. The financial constraints we face threaten this dream.
