Shereen Taja 's Story

Shereen is an old woman who has been enduring knee pain for the past few years. She is unable to stand or walk for an extended period of time. The doctor has advised total knee arthroplasty. It is an expensive surgery, and her family is unable to afford it. We request that you donate for Shereen’s Total Knee Arthroplasty and make her life pain-free.

Shereen Taja, a 54-year-old resident of Mardan, has been suffering from pain and swelling in the right knee for the last six years. The pain and swelling in her knee have gotten worse over time. Her son took her to a local hospital. After some diagnostic tests and a thorough evaluation, she was diagnosed with osteoarthritis. Osteoarthritis (OA) occurs when the cartilage in the knee joint breaks down. The knee bones rub against each other, resulting in friction, pain, stiffness, and swelling. The doctor advised her to undergo total knee arthroplasty. It is a surgical procedure that involves cutting away damaged bone and cartilage from the kneecap and replacing it with an artificial joint (prosthesis).

She lives in a small house with her husband and seven children. She is financially dependent on her son. Her son is a daily wager and earns PKR 12,000 per month. Her son’s financial condition is not stable enough to pay the surgical expenses. Shereen said in despair:

“Due to pain in my knee, I cannot move around my house, which is affecting the whole household management. Only your kind donations can help me get rid of this pain.”

After exhausting all other options, she registered her case with Transparent Hands, and we are determined to help her with your financial support. Therefore, we urge you to be generous and give for Shereen’s Total Knee Arthroplasty. She has placed her hopes in your hands. Please consider making a donation to ease her suffering.
