Give Haju a Chance to Live Without Gallbladder Pain

Haju Jumman's Story
Haju, a 43-year-old woman from Hyderabad, has been experiencing persistent pain in her right upper abdomen for eight years. Alongside this, she suffers from nausea and indigestion which worsen after meals and leave her feeling weak and drained. Unable to bear the discomfort any longer, Haju consulted a doctor who diagnosed her with Cholelithiasis – the formation of painful gallstones in her gallbladder. Her doctor has recommended laparoscopic cholecystectomy, a surgery to remove the gallbladder and provide permanent relief. Unfortunately, the cost of the surgery is far beyond her financial means.
If Haju’s condition is left untreated, her health may keep getting worse because of her poor diet. Additionally, ongoing medications will upset her stomach, preventing her from enjoying healthy meals.
Haju’s life is filled with challenges. Her husband is physically disabled and unable to work, leaving the family with no regular source of income. They rely on financial assistance from relatives, which amounts to PKR 20,000 per month—barely enough to cover their basic needs. The house provided to them by the Government of Sindh is a semi-constructed one where they live under makeshift arrangements. Haju has two daughters, one of whom is currently attending school. Despite her pain, she struggles to care for her family in these harsh living conditions. During this time of need, Haju contacted Transparent Hands and asked for assistance.
Haju said with teary eyes:
“The pain has taken over my life. I can’t look after my daughter and perform daily tasks the way I want to. I feel like a burden, and this helplessness is unbearable. Please help me get this surgery so I can live a healthy life again.”
Through your generosity, Haju can undergo the much-needed surgery to reclaim her health and dignity. Together, we can relieve her pain, restore her strength, and bring hope back into her life. Let’s work together to make a difference for Haju and her family.
Please Note: In certain situations, we proceed with the patient's surgery/medical procedure despite incomplete funding displayed on the website. Following the surgery/medical procedure, we persist in collecting funds and maintain the campaign on the website until funding is secured in full. Hospitals have granted us a grace period for bill payment.

Haju Jumman's Story
Haju Jumman, a 43-year-old woman from Hyderabad, Sindh, had been experiencing pain in her upper right abdominal region for the past eight years. For a long time, Haju was unable to enjoy healthy meals as she faced recurrent bouts of nausea and vomiting. Her intolerance to fatty meals further added to her hardships. Worried about her health, she visited a doctor at a local hospital. After a detailed medical evaluation, the doctor diagnosed Haju with Cholelithiasis. To enable her to live without fear, the doctor recommended laparoscopic cholecystectomy. However, the cost of the surgery was overwhelming for her family.
Haju lives in a modest home that is semi-constructed and they live under makeshift arrangements. Haju’s husband is physically disabled and is unable to provide for his family. They have three daughters, one of whom is studying. Their relatives financially support them and provide them with financial assistance amounting to PKR 20,000 per month. This income is insufficient to cover their essentials. Haju prayed day and night for her recovery until a day came when a neighbor told her about Transparent Hands. She reached out to us and asked for help. Moved by her plea, we registered her case.
On February 3, 2025, Haju was admitted to Isra University Welfare Hospital in Hyderabad. She received pre-operative care, and her surgery was scheduled for February 7, 2025. Her surgery was successfully performed by Dr. Aftab Ahmed Soomro, bringing Haju relief from her chronic illness. She received proper post-operative care and was discharged in satisfactory condition on February 8, 2025.
With tears of happiness in her eyes, Haju said:
“Spending each day with this illness was a significant challenge for me. However, your support came at the perfect time. I don’t have words to describe my happiness. I can now live a healthy life with my family, and I am immensely grateful for your generous support.”
Haju’s quality of life has drastically changed after surgery. This meaningful difference in her life wouldn’t be possible without your kindness.
You supported her when she had nowhere else to turn, and she is thankful for it.
