Give Ibrahim a Chance at Life
Lbrahim Shahbaz's Story
Ibrahim, a courageous 3-year-old boy from Sialkot, has been grappling with shortness of breath, chest pain, bluish skin, and struggles to gain weight. His journey began when he turned 1 year old, and his parents discovered his condition. After undergoing diagnostic tests and evaluations, Ibrahim was diagnosed with Transposition of the Great Arteries (TGA), Atrial Septal Defect (ASD), multiple Ventricular Septal Defects (VSD), and Right Ventricular Outflow Tract Obstruction (RVOTO). The only hope for his precious life lies in undergoing angioplasty followed by open heart surgery for a CP shunt.
Ibrahim lives with his parents and three siblings in a one-room house in Sialkot. Ibrahim’s father, a hardworking daily wage laborer, earns a meager income of PKR 25,000 per month, which is barely enough to cover the daily expenses and provide for his family’s needs. With the burden of daily expenses, utility bills amounting to PKR 1,500, and school fees of PKR 2,000, Ibrahim’s father is stretched to the limits. The family has no other source of income, leaving them unable to afford the exorbitant costs of their son’s critical surgical procedures.
Ibrahim’s father said in despair:
“Every beat of my son’s heart is a reminder of the immense strength and resilience he possesses. It pains me deeply to know that I cannot provide him with the medical care he urgently needs. I appeal to your kind hearts for support, for your contribution will not only save Ibrahim’s life but also restore hope and happiness to our family.”
In their search for a glimmer of hope, Ibrahim’s family turned to the compassionate hearts at Transparent Hands and recognized the urgency of Ibrahim’s situation and the dire need for the recommended Angioplasty and Open Heart Surgery CP Shunt. We are determined to raise the necessary funds to give Ibrahim a fighting chance at life, ensuring that his innocent laughter continues to fill their small home.
Please Note: In certain situations, we proceed with the patient's surgery/medical procedure despite incomplete funding displayed on the website. Lbrahim Shahbaz's Story
Ibrahim, an innocent 3-year-old boy from Sialkot, had been suffering from shortness of breath and chest discomfort since the day he was born. His lips and skin often took on a bluish color, and he was not gaining proper weight. As Ibrahim grew, so did his health issues, leaving his parents in a constant state of worry. They consulted a doctor, who, after a thorough examination and evaluation diagnosed him with several severe congenital heart defects, including Transposition of the Great Arteries (TGA), Atrial Septal Defect (ASD), Multiple Ventricular Septal Defects (VSD), and Right Ventricular Outflow Tract Obstruction (RVOTO). To treat these defects, the doctor recommended Angiography followed by Open Heart Surgery for total correction.
The surgery was far beyond their means, and the idea of being unable to save their son's life due to their financial condition was devastating. Ibrahim’s father is a daily wage laborer with a meager monthly income of PKR 25,000 per month. With the burden of utility bills and household expenses, they had no room left for savings to pay for the surgery. During this challenging time, Ibrahim’s parents found Transparent Hands and asked us for help.
The day of hope arrived. On May 27, 2024, Ibrahim was admitted to Ittefaq Hospital Lahore. The surgery was scheduled for May 29, 2024, and his open-heart surgery was performed by Dr. Asim Khan. The open-heart surgery was a complex and delicate procedure, but Dr. Asim and his team were determined to save Ibrahim’s life.
After several days of close monitoring and critical care, Ibrahim was discharged from the hospital on June 4, 2024. Ibrahim’s parents expressed their emotions as follows:
“It’s comforting to know that our son’s future is secure. You have given our son a new life. He can now play, grow, and thrive like other kids. We are overwhelmed with happiness and can’t describe our emotions in words. You saved Ibrahim’s life, we are wholeheartedly thankful to you!”
Ibrahim’s surgery was not just a medical procedure; it was a matter of life and death. But you and the Pakistan Children's Heart Foundation gave him light in his darkest hours. Your generosity has allowed him to enjoy the cherished moments of his childhood.
We are grateful for your donations. You were the miracle Ibrahim needed in his life!
