Noor Ul Ain Shujaat's Story

Noor Ul Ain Shujaat, a 1-year-old girl from Bahawalpur, had been living in a silent world since birth. Her parents noticed that she did not respond to voices or sounds like other children of her age. Concerned for their daughter’s well-being, they took her to a local hospital for evaluation. After a series of diagnostic tests, Noor was diagnosed with congenital sensorineural hearing loss. The doctor recommended a cochlear implant surgery to give her the ability to hear. With the support of Transparent Hands, Noor successfully underwent cochlear implant surgery in April 2025. After the surgery, she has started to listen to sounds. However, she cannot understand or use language to express herself. Her doctor has now advised regular speech therapy sessions so Noor can learn to interpret sounds, develop her vocabulary, and eventually communicate like other children of her age.

If Noor does not receive timely speech therapy, she may struggle to develop proper language skills. Moreover, she may miss the critical period for speech development, making it difficult for her to interact with people.

Noor lives in a modest rented home with her parents and siblings. Her father is a laborer, and her mother works as a police constable. Despite both parents working hard to provide for the family, their combined income is barely enough to cover their monthly expenses. Affording the cost of regular speech therapy sessions is simply out of their reach. They want the best for their daughter, but are helpless in their current financial situation. Noor’s parents said in despair:

“We’re thankful that Noor can now hear the world around her, but she still needs help to understand it. Without speech therapy, all the progress made through surgery may be lost. Kindly contribute for our daughter’s speech therapy sessions.”

Your support can be life-changing for Noor. With access to speech therapy, she can grow, learn, and connect with the world around her.

Come forward and donate to make a meaningful difference in Noor’s life.
