Give to Save Abdul Shahab’s Life
Abdul Shahab's Story
Meet Abdul Shahab, a 6-year-old innocent boy from Rahim Yar Khan, who has been suffering from breathlessness, chest discomfort, and cyanosis since birth. His parents consulted a doctor about his deteriorating health. After running some medical tests, Shahab’s doctor diagnosed him with Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF). It is a condition characterized by four abnormal heart defects present since birth. The doctor advised open-heart surgery for total correction to save Abdul Shahab’s life. He desperately needs the surgery, but the cost of the surgery is beyond his family’s financial reach.
Without open-heart surgery, Shahab’s condition will continue to worsen and lead to life-threatening complications. The condition can ultimately cause death.
Abdul Shahab has become frail and is unable to gain weight like other kids. The condition also affects his psychological health and makes him frustrated. Shahab avoids playing with other kids as he becomes tired easily. Moreover, he faces challenges while pursuing his studies. His parents wish to see him leading a normal and healthy life. Unfortunately, due to their financial constraints, they can’t afford the overwhelming cost of the surgery.
Abdul Shahab lives in a 5-marla mud house with his seven family members. His father, the sole breadwinner in the family, works as a daily wage laborer and brings in just PKR 20,000 monthly. With a large family to support, the cost of utility bills amounting to PKR 3000 per month, and increasing grocery expenses, they are unable to pay for the surgery. In such a challenging time, Abdul Shahab’s family turned to Transparent Hands and asked for help.
Abdul Shahab’s parents said in despair:
“Abdul Shahab is our beloved child. We feel helpless. He struggles while breathing, but we are unable to help him. We dream of the day he can play and grow like other kids. Our son’s life is at risk. Kindly help us save his life.”
The crucial open-heart surgery for total correction will allow Abdul Shahab to lead a normal and healthy life without the limitations caused by his heart defects. This is where your support matters. If he doesn’t get the necessary surgery on time, he can lose his life.

After running diagnostic tests, the doctor diagnosed him with Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF), a condition involving four congenital heart defects that disrupt the heart’s normal blood flow.
