Haseena Mazhar's Story

Haseena Mazhar, a 31-year-old woman from Hyderabad, is over 30 weeks pregnant and preparing for the arrival of her third child. However, instead of feeling excitement, Haseena is burdened with anxiety about how she will safely deliver her baby. Her medical history includes two previous C-sections. Based on this, her doctor has recommended a third elective C-section to ensure the safety of both the mother and child.

The doctor has made it clear that a natural delivery will lead to serious complications due to Haseena’s surgical history. Delaying or avoiding the advised C-section may put both her and the unborn child at high risk of uterine rupture, fetal distress, or other life-threatening complications.

Unfortunately, Haseena and her husband find themselves in a difficult financial situation. Haseena lives in a one-room brick house with her husband and two children. Her husband, the sole breadwinner in the family, works as a security guard in a private firm and makes just PKR 14,000 per month. One of her daughters attends a government school, and their limited income barely covers their monthly expenses.

Haseena and her family manage their day-to-day needs on a tight budget. With no financial savings or external support, affording the cost of the C-section is simply out of reach for them. Haseena said in despair:

“I just want to hold my baby safely in my arms. However, my husband is unable to manage the cost of this surgery. We are surviving in poverty, and the cost of this C-section is beyond our means. I need your support during this time of need.”

Haseena’s safe delivery depends on timely surgical intervention. By stepping forward with your support, you can help ensure that Haseena brings her child into the world safely and with dignity.
