Help Adil Walk Again
Adil Moroo's Story
Adil Mooro, a 25-year-old resident of Lahore, had his life changed forever in a tragic incident five years ago. While he was working, a wall fell on his right leg, resulting in a severe crush injury. Adil was rushed to the hospital, where the doctors had to make the difficult decision to perform a right above knee amputation to save his life.
Since then, Adil has been living with the challenges of his disability, unable to afford the prosthetic leg that could greatly improve his quality of life. Adil’s dream of regaining his mobility and independence remains unfulfilled due to financial restraints.
Adil resides in a small three-marla mud house in a rural setting in Lahore, where he lives with his parents. The house consists of two rooms that provide shelter for the family. Adil works as a motorcycle mechanic, earning a limited monthly income of PKR 5,000. His father, a daily wager, earns just PKR 15,000 per month. With such limited financial resources, the family struggles to meet their basic needs, including groceries, daily expenses, and utility bills amounting to PKR 1,000. Adil’s circumstances weigh heavily on his heart. He longs to contribute to his family’s well-being, but the financial burdens prevent him from doing so. He shares his plea with a heavy heart:
“I yearn for the day when I can walk again and provide for my family. The amputation of my leg has been a constant reminder of the challenges we face. I appeal to your kindness and generosity to help me acquire an artificial leg. Your support can change my life and bring hope to my family.”

Adil Moroo's Story
Adil Mooro, a 25-year-old resident of Lahore, had his life changed forever in a tragic incident five years ago. While he was working, a wall fell on his right leg, resulting in a severe crush injury. Adil was rushed to the hospital, where the doctors had to make the difficult decision to perform a right above-knee amputation to save his life.
Since then, Adil has been living with the challenges of his disability, unable to afford the prosthetic leg that could greatly improve his quality of life. Adil's dream of regaining his mobility and independence remained unfulfilled due to financial restraints. Adil works as a motorcycle mechanic, and his family struggles to meet their basic needs, including groceries, daily expenses, and utility bills, leaving them unable to afford the cost of a prosthetic leg.
Determined to help Adil reclaim his independence, Transparent Hands, a non-profit organization, took up his case. Under the expert supervision of Dr. Khalid Niaz at the Hope Rehabilitation Centre, Adil underwent a successful procedure to fit him with a state-of-the-art prosthetic leg on June 11, 2024.
