Azraa Bibi's Story
Azraa, a 27-year-old resident of Karachi, finds herself at the critical stage of her third pregnancy, currently in her 34th week. With a history of two previous C-Section deliveries, her situation demands extra care and attention. Her doctor advised her to undergo another C-section to ensure safe delivery.
Living in a rented house in Karachi with her husband and two children, Azraa faces financial hardships, as her husband’s monthly income of just PKR 22,000 is barely enough to cover their essential expenses, including rent of PKR 4,000, bills amounting to PKR 2,000, school fees of PKR 1,000, and an outstanding loan of PKR 50,000. The lack of resources leaves Azraa unable to afford the necessary surgical expenses for a safe delivery.
Azraa said it in a depressed tone:

Azraa Bibi's Story
Azraa, a 27-year-old resident of Karachi, faced a challenging moment in her life. She was expecting her third child and eagerly awaiting the day of delivery. Due to her prior history of two challenging C-sections, Azraa consulted a gynecologist. After a thorough examination and evaluation, the doctor recommended another C-section for the safe delivery of her baby, as the complications she faced this time were no different. However, the financial burden of this surgery was overwhelming for Azraa’s family.
Azraa lives in a one-room rented house with her husband and two children. Her husband works as a daily wage laborer and earns just PKR 22000 per month. With this meager income, Azraa's family struggled to make ends meet. The cost of the recommended C-section procedure was far beyond their means, leaving them anxious about the safe delivery of their unborn child.
In her time of need, Azraa turned to Transparent Hands. We took up her case and ensured that Azraa received the care she needed. Through the generous support of donors, Azraa was admitted to the hospital.
On June 21st, 2024, Azraa underwent the C-section procedure at Murshid Hospital, Karachi. An experienced gynecologist, Dr Farkhanda Saeed critically handled her case and performed the C-section surgery. The procedure was a success, and the room was filled with the joyful cries of a healthy baby boy. After two days of post-operative care, Azraa and her newborn were discharged from the hospital on June 22nd, 2024. The safe delivery of her baby brought immense relief to Azraa and her family.
Azra said with happiness:
“I am overwhelmed with gratitude, as you eased our worries. I can’t believe I am holding my newborn son in my arms. Knowing my child and I am safe means everything to me. I am deeply grateful for all your support.”
