Dawood has lived in a world of silence since the day of his birth. Unable to respond to his own name or recognize his parents’ voices, his hearing impairment has posed immense challenges in his daily life. Sadly, the life-changing cochlear implant surgery, which holds the key to restoring his hearing, remains an unattainable dream for his devoted parents who face financial constraints. Two-and-a-half -year old Dawood, a resident of Hafizabad, has been facing the challenges of hearing impairment since birth. When he was just one year old, his parents realized that he could not respond to their voices. Determined to understand the cause, they sought medical assistance at the local hospital. Following a series of tests and consultations, the heartbreaking diagnosis came forth: he was suffering from sensorineural hearing loss, an obstacle preventing him from hearing. The doctor advised him to undergo cochlear implant surgery which involves a small electronic device that stimulates the cochlear nerve, allowing her to perceive sounds. 

He lives with his parents. His father is doing a government job and earns PKR 95,000 per month.  It is not possible for him to pay for the surgery with his limited income. He said it in a depressed tone.
