However, during the surgery, an unforeseen complication emerged: a rectal perforation was discovered, necessitating the creation of a colostomy—a surgical procedure that diverts the normal flow of waste through the colon to an opening in the abdominal wall.

Now, Fozia faces another challenging phase in her journey towards recovery. Her medical team has advised her to undergo an exploratory laparotomy, a surgical procedure that involves opening the abdomen to assess and treat any further complications. Additionally, the team aims to close the colostomy, allowing Fozia’s digestive system to resume its natural course.

This creation of sigmoid loop colostomy has undeniably created immense physical and emotional burdens for Fozia. She had undergone a Total Abdominal Hysterectomy (TAH) along with left ovarian cyst excision, during which the rectal perforation was identified and repaired. To aid in her recovery, a covering colostomy was performed. Determined to regain her quality of life, Fozia was admitted to Lahore Care Hospital.
