Goriman Khan's Story

Goriman Khan, a 77-year-old resident of Karachi, has been enduring persistent pain in his right upper abdomen for the past three years. Despite seeking medical assistance from local doctors and receiving temporary relief through medications, his condition has not improved. In search of a more lasting solution, Goriman visited Murshid Hospital’s outpatient department (OPD), where a doctor examined him and recommended laparoscopic cholecystectomy surgery.

Goriman, unfortunately, finds himself in a challenging financial situation. He is jobless, and his son is the sole earner of the family, with a monthly income of only 20,000 PKR. With five children to support, Goriman’s financial constraints make it impossible for him to afford the cost of the required surgery. His inability to bear the expenses leaves him in a state of distress as he yearns for relief from his debilitating pain.

Goriman expresses his predicament, saying, “I am unable to undergo the necessary surgery due to my financial circumstances. Please help me. Your support can make a world of difference in my life.”

Recognizing the urgency of Goriman’s situation, Transparent Hands has taken up his case and registered him for the much-needed surgery. However, we cannot fulfil their mission without the assistance of generous donors like you. We appeal to individuals with kind hearts to come forward and support Goriman Khan’s laparoscopic cholecystectomy, as his symptoms will only worsen without the surgery.

Goriman’s story sheds light on the struggles faced by individuals who lack the financial means to access critical medical care. With your support, we can offer Goriman relief from his prolonged suffering and provide him with the opportunity to regain his health. Your contribution, no matter how small, will have a profound impact on Goriman’s life.

Please Note: In certain situations, we proceed with the patient's surgery/medical procedure despite incomplete funding displayed on the website. Following the surgery/medical procedure, we persist in collecting funds and maintain the campaign on the website until funding is secured in full. Hospitals have granted us a grace period for bill payment.

Goriman Khan's Story

Goriman Khan, a 77-year-old resident of Karachi, had been enduring, persistent pain in his right upper abdomen for the past three years. Despite seeking medical assistance from local doctors and finding temporary relief through medications, his condition showed no signs of improvement. Seeking a more lasting solution, Goriman visited the outpatient department (OPD) of Murshid Hospital, where a doctor examined him and recommended laparoscopic cholecystectomy surgery.

In his time of greatest despair, Goriman turned to Transparent Hands, embracing the possibility of medical intervention and a chance for a brighter future. His plea for help was answered, and his case was registered, igniting a glimmer of hope on his path. Through the support of generous donors, Goriman's journey transformed from one of despair to triumph, proving that acts of kindness have the power to change lives.

Goriman was admitted to Murshid Hospital, Karachi, where the Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy surgery was performed by Dr. Khalid Shafiq on January 23, 2024. After just one day, he was discharged from the hospital in satisfactory condition. Gratitude filled Goriman's heart as he recognised that, without the generous donations that made his operation possible, his journey toward healing would have remained a distant dream.

With profound appreciation, Goriman wholeheartedly expresses his gratitude to the selfless individuals whose kindness and generosity bridged the gap between suffering and relief. He acknowledges the invaluable contributions that paved the way to a healthier life, reigniting his hopes and aspirations.

As time goes on, Goriman's suffering lessens, and he understands that healing is not just physical—it's a reflection of the incredible resilience of the human spirit. He finds it hard to fully express his deep thanks to the donors who shone as lights of hope, showing him that kindness is always there to help through tough times. The kindness of many has profoundly transformed his life.
