Sheikh Ijaz Ahmad's Story

Sheikh Ijaz Ahmed, a 64-year-old patient from Lahore, is facing a critical situation due to a diabetic foot condition that has led to a spreading infection. Five months ago, he underwent a right below-knee amputation in an effort to save his life. However, the financial burden of his medical expenses has become overwhelming.

Sheikh Ijaz resides in a mortgaged (girvi) house in Lahore, along with his wife, in a single room for which they pay a monthly rent of PKR 1,000. With limited financial resources, Sheikh Ijaz is entirely dependent on his sons-in-law to cover his basic needs. They are responsible for his medications, daily expenses, and utility bills, amounting to PKR 1,000. The situation Sheikh Ijaz finds himself in is truly distressing. As a diabetic patient, his health has been severely affected, and the amputation of his leg has added further challenges to his life.

He said it with teary eyes:

“The burden of prothestic leg has become unbearable, and I am unable to afford to pay for it. The financial crisis has left me fully dependent on my sons-in-law to meet my basic needs. I humbly appeal to your compassion and mercy to help me obtain the necessary resources for my mobility. Your support can bring relief to my family and grant me the chance to regain my health and independence.”
