Help Iqra Bibi Deliver a Healthy Baby
Iqra Bibi's Story
Iqra Bibi, a 26-year-old resident of Karachi, is excited about the arrival of her second child. Iqra’s pregnancy has reached the 36th week, and her doctor has recommended a C-section birth. This surgical procedure is critical to the safe delivery of the baby and Iqra’s health. However, the financial cost of the operation falls hard on the family’s shoulders.
Iqra lives in a rented house in Karachi with her husband and one child. Her husband, the lone earner, works on a daily pay and earns only PKR 20,000 each month. He has to pay PKR 6,000 in rent, PKR 3,000 in utility bills, and PKR 60,000 in outstanding debts. With these expenses, the family is barely making ends meet, leaving no money to finance Iqra’s C-section operation.
Iqra Bibi said in despair:
“I am anxious about the cost of the operation. We have been trying our hardest to save money, but the high cost of living and our current debts have made it difficult to pay for the essential C-Section procedure. I request you to make a donation and help me with safe delivery.”

Iqra Bibi's Story
Iqra Bibi, a 26-year-old woman from Karachi, awaited the arrival of her second child. She had a history of one C-section which filled her heart with concerns. She went to a nearby hospital and consulted a gynecologist, who performed an ultrasound scan and some lab tests. He advised another C-section. To ensure the safety of both Iqra and her child, this procedure was crucial as attempting a natural delivery could create potential complications. However, the cost of the C-section was beyond her financial reach.
Iqra lived in a small rented house with her husband and one child. Her husband, the sole provider for the family, worked as a daily wage laborer and earned just PKR 20,000 per month. With this meager monthly income, they hardly managed to pay for house rent, utility bills as well as groceries. The cost of the C-section was overwhelming and her family couldn’t afford it. Iqra and her husband were extremely worried, knowing their unborn child’s life would be in danger if they couldn’t manage to pay for her surgery. During this difficult time, Iqra reached out to Transparent Hands and asked us for help. After learning about her situation, we swiftly registered her case.
On 1st September 2024, Iqra was admitted to Murshid Hospital in Karachi. Her surgery was scheduled on the same day. Dr. Samreen Zeeshan performed her C-section surgery. The procedure went smoothly and she gave birth to a healthy baby boy. Iqra was hospitalized for three days and she was discharged in a stable condition on 3rd September 2024.
Iqra and her husband shared their emotions with teary eyes as follows:
“Words cannot express our gratitude. We will never forget the compassion of those who helped us bring our baby into the world safely without worrying about the medical expenses. You have given our family an incredible gift.”
Iqra is recovering and is ready to spend a happy life with her newborn. Your compassion has created a new, joyful beginning for them, and they are deeply grateful for your support.
