Ishfa Batool's Story

Ishfa is a sweet little girl who needs cochlear implant surgery to change her life. Without the surgery, she will be unable to learn and communicate effectively, and she will be deprived of the numerous benefits that come from being able to hear her surroundings. Her silence has devastated her family. We urge you to donate and help Ishfa to unlock the world of sounds

Five-year-old Ishfa, a resident of Dera Ghazi Khan, has been living with congenital sensorineural hearing loss since birth. Her parents became concerned when, at the age of one, she showed no response to their voices. Seeking medical assistance, they took her to a local hospital, where she underwent various tests. After consulting with a doctor, Umm-e-Hani was diagnosed with sensorineural deafness. The doctor recommended cochlear implant surgery as the appropriate treatment option, which could improve her hearing abilities and enhance her quality of life. Cochlear implant surgery involves the implantation of a device that directly stimulates the auditory nerve, allowing individuals like Umm-e-Hani to perceive sound and potentially regain their ability to hear.

She lives with her parents and one sibling. Her father is the only breadwinner in the family and earns PKR 18,000 per month. Unfortunately, he cannot afford the surgery and is in desperate need of financial assistance. Despite the fact that his limited income cannot cover the cost of the procedure, he does not want to abandon her in a silent world. Her father said in distress:

“I worry about all the wonderful things my daughter might miss because I can’t afford her cochlear implant surgery. Your support can make a huge difference, giving her the chance to hear the world and create a brighter future.”

Someone told her parents about Transparent Hands and the causes we champion, and they reached out to us for help. Now, all that is required of you is a small donation to help her gain hearing ability. We request that you support Ishfa’s cochlear implant surgery and allow her to live her life to the fullest.

Ishfa Batool's Story

Ishfa, a five-year-old girl from Dera Ghazi Khan, had been dealing with congenital sensorineural hearing loss since birth. Concerned when she showed no response to their voices at the age of one, her parents sought medical assistance. After undergoing various tests at a local hospital, Ishfa was diagnosed with sensorineural deafness, a condition that affects the inner ear and the auditory nerve.

The doctor recommended cochlear implant surgery as the appropriate treatment option to improve her hearing abilities and enhance her quality of life. However, Ishfa's father could not afford the surgical expenses, leaving her parents feeling helpless. In their search for assistance, they learned about Transparent Hands and reached out for help.

Ishfa was admitted to Ali Medical Centre, Islamabad, where Dr. Jawad skillfully performed the cochlear implant surgery on 21-08-2023. With precision and expertise, the doctor successfully implanted the internal component of the cochlear implant. This marked a significant milestone as Ishfa's hearing ability was successfully restored.

After just one day in the hospital, Ishfa was discharged. Over the following weeks, the external component of the cochlear implant was also fixed, completing the implantation process. Additionally, Ishfa underwent a series of speech therapy sessions to develop her language and communication skills. With the dedicated support of a speech therapist, Ishfa found herself capable of responding to her parents' voices.

This transformational journey was made possible by the generous contributions from donors who supported Ishfa's surgery. Their kindness and compassion gave her the priceless gift of hearing, setting off a chain of positivity that will beautifully shape her future.

Ishfa's success story highlights the importance of medical interventions and the power of collective support in changing lives. With her newfound ability to hear, Ishfa can now embrace a world full of sounds, words, and endless possibilities, allowing her to thrive and reach her full potential.
