Khuda Buksh's Story

Over the past few months, Khuda Buksh has endured significant hardship and suffering. As a known case of left diabetic foot, he developed inflammation in his foot and requested that his wife take him to a doctor. The doctor prescribed symptomatic treatment, but unfortunately, the inflammation continued to worsen over time. Concerned about his condition, Khuda Buksh sought further medical attention, leading to the amputation of his left leg below the knee due to the spreading infection.

The loss of his leg has greatly impacted Khuda Buksh’s daily activities, making it difficult for him to perform tasks independently. He is now in need of an artificial leg to regain his mobility and lead a more fulfilling life. However, due to financial constraints, his family is unable to afford the cost of a prosthetic leg.

Khuda Buksh, a 53-year-old resident of Kasur, lives in a rented house with his wife. His limited income poses a significant challenge to providing for his family’s needs. With a meager monthly earning of PKR 33,000, his financial resources are stretched thin, leaving no room to cover the expenses of an artificial leg.

In despair, Khuda Buksh shares his heartfelt plea, saying,

“Amidst this economic crisis, I have been unable to work, and we are rapidly running out of options without a steady source of income. Please help me regain my mobility and financial independence.”

Fortunately, someone referred Khuda Buksh to Transparent Hands, and he has submitted his documents to seek assistance. His case is now registered with us, and we have made a promise to provide him with a prosthesis. Initially seeking medical intervention, he underwent symptomatic treatment as prescribed by a doctor to alleviate the persistent inflammation. However, despite these efforts, the situation worsened, ultimately necessitating the unfortunate amputation of his left leg below the knee due to a severe and worsening infection.

The loss of his leg had a profound impact on Khuda Buksh's ability to perform daily activities independently, highlighting the urgent need for an artificial leg to restore mobility and enhance his overall quality of life.
