Muhammad Essa's Story

A cochlear implant could completely transform Muhammad Essa’s life. Without the ability to hear, he will face challenges in his education and social development, hindering his overall well-being. The silence has taken a toll on his family, leaving them shattered. Muhammad Essa is eagerly awaiting cochlear implant surgery, and we urge you to donate and provide him with the opportunity to thrive in life.

Muhammad Essa, a two-year-old resident of Sukkur, has been dealing with congenital sensorineural hearing loss. His parents first noticed his hearing impairment when he was just one year old, as he did not respond to their voices. They took him to the local hospital, where he underwent tests and was diagnosed with sensorineural deafness. The doctor recommended cochlear implant surgery as a means to restore his hearing. A cochlear implant uses electrical stimulation of the cochlear nerve to enable hearing. It consists of external and internal components, with the external part attached behind the ear. It processes sounds with a microphone before transmitting them to the implant inside the ear.

Muhammad Essa comes from a large family of twelve members. His father is the sole provider, earning a monthly salary of PKR 30,000. Unfortunately, they are unable to afford the surgery and are in desperate need of financial assistance. Muhammad Essa’s father expressed his distress, saying:

“Due to my inability to accumulate enough funds for my child’s cochlear implant surgery, I am deeply concerned that he will miss out on numerous opportunities in life. Please donate today so that my child can receive the necessary medical treatment.

They were informed about Transparent Hands and the causes we support, leading them to reach out to us for financial assistance. All we require from you is a small donation, as Muhammad Essa eagerly awaits cochlear implant surgery, which will enable him to experience the world to the fullest.

Please Note: In certain situations, we proceed with the patient's surgery/medical procedure despite incomplete funding displayed on the website. Muhammad Essa's Story

In the vibrant city of Sukkur, a two-year-old boy named Muhammad Essa faced the challenges of congenital sensorineural hearing loss. His parents first became aware of his condition when he failed to respond to their voices at the tender age of one. Seeking answers, they brought him to a local hospital where tests confirmed his diagnosis of sensorineural deafness. The doctor recommended cochlear implant surgery as the potential solution to restore Muhammad Essa's ability to hear.

However, Muhammad Essa's family, consisting of twelve members, struggled financially. With a monthly income of PKR 30,000 and the weight of their responsibilities, affording the life-changing surgery seemed impossible. In their desperate search for assistance, they discovered Transparent Hands and the incredible causes it supports, prompting them to reach out for help.

Thanks to the boundless generosity of compassionate donors, Muhammad Essa's journey towards rediscovering the symphony of sound began. Transparent Hands facilitated his admission to GIMS Hospital in Gambat, where the skilled surgeon Dr. Maqbool performed the intricate procedure to implant the internal component of the cochlear device on March 23, 2024. For the following six weeks, we continued to provide unwavering support. The external implant was successfully installed, accompanied by a series of meticulously scheduled speech therapy sessions.
