Robina Nasir's Story

Robina Nasir, a 39-year-old woman from Lahore, has been suffering from heavy menstrual bleeding and prolonged menstrual cycles for the past five months. Daily household chores have become a struggle, and she often feels exhausted and weak. Concerned for her well-being, her family took her to a local hospital and consulted a doctor. After a thorough examination, the doctor diagnosed her with Uterine Fibroids, a condition marked by noncancerous growths in the uterus that can lead to severe bleeding, pain, and other complications. To address her worsening condition and prevent further health risks, the doctor advised a Total Abdominal Hysterectomy (TAH) – a surgical procedure to remove the uterus. If she doesn’t undergo the surgery, she may continue to experience heavy bleeding and pain. The fibroids can grow and may develop into cancer. Additionally, there may be other risks of complications, such as anemia.

Robina is a housewife and lives with her husband and five children in her father’s house. Her husband works at a factory. He is the sole provider for the entire family, earning a modest income of just PKR 30,000 per month. With utility bills amounting to PKR 5,000, school expenses of PKR 8,000 for their children, they are in no position to afford the cost of Robina’s surgery. Furthermore, a staggering loan of PKR 600,000 also adds to their hardships. The family lives under constant financial strain, worried about how they will manage Robina’s treatment alongside their daily needs. Someone told them about Transparent Hands. Robina reached out to us and we registered her case.

Robina said in despair:

“I am unable to take care of my children like before. I constantly fear the outcomes in case of not undergoing the surgery. We have no means to pay for my surgery. Please help us during this difficult time.”

Your kindness can bring relief to Robina and her family.

Give charity today and ensure Robina’s recovery from Uterine Fibroids.
