Shahnaz Ijaz's Story

Shahnaz Ijaz, a 65-year-old resident of Lahore, has been courageously battling breast cancer for the past 1.5 years. It all started when she noticed a lump in her left breast and sought medical attention. Following a comprehensive evaluation, Shahnaz received the devastating diagnosis of breast cancer. In December 2022, she underwent a biopsy to confirm the diagnosis, and the results confirmed the presence of cancerous cells. Shahnaz’s oncologist recommended chemotherapy as the next crucial step in her treatment plan to combat the disease.

Understanding the urgency of her situation, Shahnaz diligently attended chemotherapy sessions to target and eliminate the cancer cells within her body. Additionally, due to being HER2 positive, her doctor prescribed a series of 18 herceptin injections, specifically designed to neutralise the HER2 protein and impede the growth of certain breast cancers. Shahnaz has already received 12 of these injections, with six more remaining to complete her prescribed course of treatment.

Shahnaz’s unwavering determination to overcome cancer is evident, but she faces a significant obstacle—her financial capacity to continue the necessary treatment. With a heartfelt plea, she shares her struggle:
