Surya Bibi's Story

Surya Bibi, a 63-year-old resident of Lahore, whose life has been overshadowed by severe knee pain for the past five years. After seeking medical consultation, she underwent x-rays and tests, which revealed a distressing diagnosis of left Grade IV osteoarthritis of the knee. The only hope to get rid of knee pain lies in total knee replacement surgery. However, Surya Bibi’s financial circumstances have rendered her unable to afford this life-changing procedure.

Surya Bibi, a housewife, lives with her five sons in their modest two-room house. Her sons work as daily wage laborers, collectively earning a meager sum of approximately PKR 33,000 per month. Despite their best efforts, their monthly income is barely enough to cover the necessities of the household. They had to pay for utility bills and groceries, along with daily expenses, which left no room for savings. Surya Bibi’s surgical expenses for the Total knee replacement are beyond their means, leaving the family in distress. With no other source of income, they find themselves trapped in a cycle of financial hardship.

Surya Bibi pleads, “I’m in so much pain, and it’s taken over my life. Your help could give me back my ability to move and my sense of pride.”

Surya Bibi’s family reached out to Transparent Hands for assistance, and we have registered her case. Your support could be the key to helping Surya Bibi to get rid of knee pain and break free from the grip of financial hardship and access the medical care she urgently needs.

Suffering from severe knee pain, Surya Bibi finds herself unable to perform basic activities, a situation made worse by her family’s limited resources. This has prevented her from getting the help she needs. However, with your kindness and donations, we can end her cycle of pain. Every bit of aid counts significantly towards bringing back hope, freedom of movement, and happiness into Surya Bibi’s life. Let’s unite in support of her as we strive for a future where she is free from pain.

Surya Bibi's Story

Surya Bibi, a 63-year-old resident of Lahore, had been experiencing persistent pain in her left knee for the past five years. Gradually, her condition worsened, making it increasingly difficult for her to walk or perform daily tasks. Despite trying various treatments, the pain did not subside, and her knee’s range of motion became severely restricted. Concerned about her worsening condition, her family took her to a doctor for a detailed evaluation. After performing necessary tests and an X-ray, the doctor diagnosed her with Grade IV osteoarthritis in her left knee - a condition that left her joint severely damaged. Her doctor recommended Total Knee Replacement Surgery but the cost of the surgery was beyond her financial means.

Surya lived in a modest house with her ten family members. As a housewife, Surya relied on her sons for support, who worked as daily wage laborers. They earned a combined monthly income of just PKR 33,000. With this limited income, they barely managed household expenses, leaving no possibility of affording the costly surgical procedure. Realizing they could not manage the expenses on their own, they turned to Transparent Hands for assistance. Understanding her critical situation, we took up her case and arranged for her surgery.

On January 07, 2025, Surya Bibi was admitted to the Pakistan Society for Rehabilitation of Disabled (PSRD). The surgery was successfully performed on January 8, 2025, by Dr. Saleem. Surya stayed in the hospital for two days, received post-operative care, and was discharged in stable condition on January 10, 2025.

Overwhelmed with relief and gratitude, Surya Bibi shared her heartfelt words:

"For years, I suffered in pain, unable to move freely. This surgery has given me a new life. I am deeply grateful to you for making this possible. May you always be blessed."

With her pain now gone and mobility restored, Surya Bibi looks forward to living her life without limitations. Your generous support has not only changed her life but has also brought immense relief to her family.
