Touseef Ali's Story

In the town of Khairpur, Touseef Ali, only four years old, has been enduring a world devoid of sound since his birth. His parents, devastated by their son’s condition, are struggling to find a permanent solution and a way to restore his hearing.

When Touseef turned one, his parents learned about his hearing disability and sought medical help. The doctors recommended a hearing device, but the family’s limited financial means rendered it unaffordable. Determined to find a solution, Touseef’s parents continued their search, leading them to a compassionate doctor who proposed a cochlear implant—an innovative treatment that held the potential to restore their son’s hearing.

However, the financial burden weighed heavily on Touseef’s family. His father, the sole earner, struggled to make ends meet with a monthly income of 20,000 PKR. After paying the house rent of PKR 10,000 and utility bills amounting to PKR 5,000, there was little left for other expenses. With limited income, his father cannot pay for the surgery. The heartbreak of witnessing their son live in a world of silence became a great burden.

Amidst this despair, Touseef’s family discovered Transparent Hands—a beacon of hope for those in need of medical assistance. With renewed hope, they registered Touseef’s case, seeking the support they desperately required.

“We’re having a really tough time because we don’t have enough money, and it’s so hard to see our son living in a world without sound. We’re asking kind people out there to help us with the cost of the surgery so Touseef can hear,”

Touseef Ali's Story

Touseef Ali, a 4-year-old resident of Khairpur, was born deaf. His parents were heartbroken and desperately wanted to find a way to help him hear. When Touseef turned one, his parents took him to the doctor, who confirmed that he had hearing loss. The doctor suggested cochlear implant surgery, but it was too expensive for Touseef's family to afford. Despite their limited finances, Touseef's parents didn't give up and continued searching for a solution.

Fortunately, they came across Transparent Hands. Thanks to the kindness of kind donors, Touseef was admitted to GIMS Hospital, Gambat. On February 20, 2024, Dr. Maqbool, a skilled surgeon, installed the internal component of the cochlear implant. It was a ray of hope for Touseef and his family. After just two days, he left the hospital, filled with newfound optimism.

Six weeks later, the external part of the cochlear implant was carefully fitted. This special device would allow Touseef to hear the sounds around him. To help him learn how to understand and speak, he started attending speech therapy sessions. With the guidance of dedicated therapists, Touseef's world began to change. Through speech therapy, he learned to listen and started uttering a few words. Every session brought him closer to the beautiful world of sound.

The cochlear implant and speech therapy made a big difference in Touseef's life. He no longer felt trapped in silence but could now experience the joy of hearing. His family was overjoyed to see him making progress and embracing the world around him.

Touseef's story is a testament to the power of compassion and support. It shows that with help from others, we can overcome challenges and bring happiness into the lives of those who need it most.
