Urwa Yasir 's Story
Since her birth, Urwa has been a silent observer of the world. Her hearing loss has made daily life extremely difficult for her, making it impossible for her to respond to her own name or recognize her parents’ voices. Unfortunately, her caring parents’ dream of having the life-altering cochlear implant surgery to restore her hearing is still out of reach due to financial limitations. Today, we humbly reach out to you, urging your generous support to help Urwa unlock the gift of sound.
Five-year-old Urwa, a resident of Bhambar, has been facing the challenges of hearing impairment since birth. When she reached her first year, her parents noticed something amiss—she did not respond to their voices, causing deep concern. Determined to understand the cause, they sought medical assistance at the local hospital. Following a series of tests and consultations, the heartbreaking diagnosis came forth. She was diagnosed with sensorineural hearing loss, an obstacle preventing her from experiencing the world of sound. The doctor advised her to undergo cochlear implant surgery, which involves a small electronic device that stimulates the cochlear nerve, allowing her to perceive sounds.
She lives with her parents and three siblings. Her father has a private job and earns PKR 45,000 per month. He is struggling to make ends meet. It is not possible for him to pay for the surgery with his limited income. He said it in a depressed tone.
