Mouazam Khan's Story

Before you proceed to read Mouazam Khan’s story, we want to remind you that you can make a difference. Your donation, however small it may be, will help us restore Mouazam’s vision. Therefore, we request you to please donate for his cataract surgery.

Five years ago, Mouazam Khan’s vision started to get blurry. Moreover, he suffered from pain and discomfort in both of his eyes. At first, he did not pay much attention to it. But, eventually, the pain and discomfort became evident through his runny eyes. All the home remedies failed, and nothing was able to help. As his condition worsened, Mouazam Khan consulted a doctor.

After a thorough check-up, the doctor diagnosed Mouazam with a Cataract in his right eye. A Cataract is an opacification of the lens of the eye, which leads to a decrease in vision. To restore Mouazam’s vision, the doctor has advised him to undergo a right Phaco IOL surgery as soon as possible. Phacoemulsification, or phaco, is a method of cataract surgery in which the defected lens is replaced with an artificial lens.

Unfortunately, Mouzam cannot afford the hefty cost of cataract surgery. Currently, Mouazam Khan is out of work. His brother is the sole earner of the family and financially supports Mouazam Khan. He hardly earns PKR 25000 per month. Therefore, with a huge family of fifteen members, it has become impossible for him to manage the expenses. He told us:

“The pandemic has ruined the business for us. We are at a continual loss. The loss has left us in no position to arrange for my brother’s surgery.”

Now, with the help of his doctor, Mouazam Khan has registered his case with Transparent Hands. We have assured him that we would try our best to help him. Therefore, we request you to donate for Mouazam’s cataract surgery. Your donations will help us restore Mouazam’s vision.
