Umm-e Farwa's Story

Umm-e-Farwa’s illness makes it difficult for her to play like all the other girls her age. She has a deadly heart condition and her life will remain at risk if we don’t intervene. We request you to donate generously and help us save Umm-e-Farwa’s heart. Even a penny can make a lasting difference.

Umm-e-Farwa, a 12-year-old resident of Lahore, has been suffering from shortness of breath and cyanosis since birth. She was also unable to gain weight. After her parents noticed that she was having difficulty while breathing, they took her to a doctor. Upon consultation, the doctor diagnosed her with Complex congenital heart disease – Tricuspid Atresia, ASD (Atrial Septal Defect), Small RV (residual volume right ventricle), and MAPCA (Major aortopulmonary collateral arteries). An atrial septal defect is a cardiac birth defect in which the upper chambers (atria) of the heart are divided by a hole in the wall (septum). The doctors advised her to undergo Angiography and Open Heart Surgery with CP shunt placement.

Umm-e-Farwa has a family of seven and her father works as a salesman. Her father is the only person financially supporting the entire family and he earns just PKR 24,000 monthly. Her father’s monthly income is barely enough to make ends meet. He cannot afford the hefty cost of this surgery. Umm-e-Farwa’s father came to know about Transparent Hands and they visited us. It was sad to see such a bright kid unable to live her childhood to the fullest.

“There has been no joy in our lives since the doctor told us that our little daughter is suffering from a deadly heart disease. If you’re reading this, please help us without any delay.” – Umm-e-Farwa’s Mother.

Transparent Hands has verified and registered Umm-e-Farwa’s case. We are determined to help her live a normal life. But it will not be possible without your support and donations. You can help us save Umm-e-Farwa’s heart. Therefore, we request you to donate as much as you can.
