Jahan Ara Awaits Breast Cancer Surgery

Jahan Ara's Story
Jahan Ara, a 42-year-old woman from Karachi, has been silently experiencing pain and discomfort for the past year due to a lump in her left breast. Cooking for her family, doing household chores, and taking care of her children have become significantly challenging. Sleepless nights filled with worry and physical pain have left her feeling weak and helpless. Concerned about her health, she finally consulted a doctor. After performing a thorough examination, the doctor diagnosed her with left breast cancer and recommended left breast conservation surgery along with axillary sampling. However, the cost of the surgery is overwhelming for her family.
If Jahan Ara does not undergo surgery soon, her condition can take a dangerous turn. The lump may continue to grow, become more aggressive, and increase the risk of cancerous cells spreading to other parts of her body. As time passes, her chances of recovery will diminish, and she may face life-threatening complications.
Jahan Ara lives in a two-room house with her husband and four children. Her husband, a laborer, earns a modest income of PKR 30,000 per month which barely covers their household expenses. With four children in school, their combined school fees amount to PKR 4000, while utility bills cost them PKR 5000 every month. Due to their financial hardships, affording to pay for her much-needed surgery is impossible for them. With nowhere else to turn, Jahan Ara has reached out to Transparent Hands for help. She expressed her emotions as follows:
“I never imagined facing such a terrifying battle. My children need me, and I want to be there for them. But without surgery, my future is uncertain. Please extend your support and give me a chance to fight this battle with hope.”
Jahan Ara’s fight against this illness is not just her own – it is a battle for her family, her children, and the life she longs to live. Your donations can be the miracle she is praying for. Let’s join hands to give Jahan Ara a second chance at life.

Jahan Ara's Story
Jahan Ara, a 42-year-old woman from Karachi, had been suffering from a lump in her left breast that brought persistent pain and discomfort. Daily tasks like cooking meals, managing her home, and caring for her children became increasingly difficult for her. Sleepless nights filled with worry and physical pain left her feeling weak and overwhelmed. Fearing for her health, Jahan Ara finally decided to consult a doctor. After a thorough examination and diagnostic tests, the doctor diagnosed Jahan Ara with left-sided breast cancer. Her doctor recommended left breast conservation surgery along with axillary sampling to remove the cancerous tissues and prevent the disease from spreading. However, the cost of the treatments was beyond her family’s means.
Jahan Ara lives with her husband and four children in a small two-room house. Her husband works as a laborer, earning only PKR 30,000 a month, a modest income that hardly covers their utility bills, food, school fees, and other daily needs. With nothing left to save, affording such a critical procedure seemed impossible. The fear of losing her life and leaving her children without a mother weighed heavily on her heart. During this desperate situation, Jahan Ara and her family learned about Transparent Hands, and they reached out to us. We listened to their worries and promptly registered her case.
On February 1, 2025, Jahan Ara was admitted to Bait-ul-Sukoon Cancer Hospital in Karachi. The next day, on February 2, 2025, Dr. Saeeda Sakina performed her left breast conservation surgery with axillary sampling. After receiving proper post-operative care, she was discharged in stable condition on February 6, 2025.
With relief in her eyes, Jahan Ara said:
“Without your help, I couldn’t have managed this surgery. You’ve made it possible for me to recover and continue caring for my children. I truly appreciate your support during this challenging time.”
Jahan Ara is now recovering, and she is free from the discomfort caused by breast cancer. Your kindness has brought hope and healing to Jahan Ara and her family.
They are deeply grateful for your compassion and generosity.
