Javed Needs Hernioplasty to Overcome Pain

Javed Iqbal's Story
Javed Iqbal, a 49-year-old resident of Faisalabad, is facing serious health challenges. He has been experiencing swelling around the umbilical area. Over time, the swelling has increased, making his routine movements difficult. He feels pain, especially when coughing, lifting objects, or standing for extended periods. A persistent, dull ache hinders his routine activities and has affected his ability to work and perform daily tasks. Concerned by his persistent symptoms, Javed visited a local hospital, where he was diagnosed with a Paraumbilical Hernia. The doctor has strongly recommended Hernioplasty, a surgical procedure to repair the hernia. However, Javed and his family cannot bear the expenses of the surgery.
Javed Iqbal’s condition has been deteriorating. Without surgical intervention, the hernia is likely to grow larger, raising the risk of obstruction, pain, and strangulation. These complications may result in extended illness and permanent damage.
Javed Iqbal doesn’t own a house and supports five family members, including three children. As an office assistant, he earns a modest income of PKR 35,000 per month, which barely covers his family’s basic needs. His wife works as a maid in someone’s home, and they live there. Their total monthly income is PKR 42,000. With their limited income, they have to pay PKR 4,000 for their children’s education. Javed and his family have no savings.
During this difficult time, Javed Iqbal’s family reached out to Transparent Hands for help. He said:
“I have been living with constant pain for a long time. I struggle to work, and even everyday tasks are getting harder. Surgery can help me recover, but I can’t afford such a big expense. Please help me get the surgery.”
