Essa Khan's Story

Among his neighborhood, two years old Essa Khan is famous as a miracle baby. Essa Khan did not breathe for several minutes after his birth. The doctors and parents had lost all hope for his survival. At last, after 40 minutes, he took his first breath. After that, the doctors tried their best to keep Essa’s heart beating and succeeded.

Afterwards, Essa Khan was admitted to the hospital for three weeks for treatment of pneumonia. The doctors advised him to take an ECHO test. Upon the result of ECHO, the doctors diagnosed Essa Khan with Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF). TOF is a cardiac anomaly that refers to a combination of four related heart defects that commonly occur together. To treat this life-threatening disease, the cardiologist has recommended Essa to undergo open-heart surgery for total correction.

Essa’s troubles do not end here. Consequently, His parents have circled back and forth to several local hospitals to seek affordable surgery. But, unfortunately, their quest bore no fruit.

“Essa, my son cannot speak a word. But his blue nails and short breaths speak volumes. He does not say anything. But I understand his pain through his muffled cries. Please save my son’s life. Help us keep Essa’s heart beating.” -Essa Khan’s Father.

Essa’s father is a heart patient himself. His deteriorating health does not allow him to do any work. Thus, all the expenses fall on Essa’s uncle’s shoulder. They are unable to afford the hefty cost of Essa’s surgery. Therefore, we urge you to please donate to keep Essa’s heart beating. Only your financial help can save him.

Right now, Essa Khan’s condition is critical. Without surgery, every second is bringing him one step closer to death. Essa’s small heart needs all your help to keep it beating. Your financial support, however small it may be, will help save a child’s life. Click the donate now button and send help to keep Essa’s heart beating. Donate now!

Essa Khan's Story

Essa Khan, 1.8 years old, suffered from breathlessness and cyanosis since his birth. On detailed medical consultation, he was diagnosed with congenital cardiac defects called tetralogy of fallot (TOF) and double outlet right ventricle (DORV). He was advised surgery for the repair of these defects. For this purpose, Essa was admitted in Ittefaq Hospital and his open heart surgery for BT shunt procedure was performed by Dr. Mohammad Asim Khan on 14-01-2021. He stayed in the hospital for four days and was discharged in a satisfactory condition. Essa’s weakness has subsided and he is recovering swiftly from his major surgery. The surgery was conducted with the support of Pakistan Children Heart foundation and other donors.
