Hikmat Naveed's Story

Hikmat Naveed, a six-year-old girl from Lahore, has been battling with a painful and challenging condition since birth. She was born with an absent anus that prevented her from passing stool normally. Hikmat faced immense discomfort as meconium was expelled through her vaginal opening. When she was just five days old, doctors performed a colostomy to create an alternative way for her to pass stool. Despite her young age, she has undergone multiple diagnostic tests including a cystoscopy in May 2022 at a government hospital. Hikmat was diagnosed with Anorectal Malformation. To help her live a normal life, doctors have recommended a crucial surgical procedure—PSARVUP (Posterior Sagittal Anorecto-vaginourethralplasty). However, her family is unable to afford the cost of this much-needed surgery.

If Hikmat does not undergo this surgery, her condition will continue to deteriorate. She may face severe infections, persistent pain, and difficulty in leading a normal life. The risk of complications such as urinary tract infections, bowel dysfunction, and damage to surrounding organs will increase.

Hikmat lives with her family in a small home, where financial struggles are a daily reality. Her parents long to see their daughter live a healthy and happy life, but they are unable to pay for the surgery due to ongoing financial hardships. Hikmat’s father works as a daily wage laborer and her mother is a seamstress, collectively earning PKR 30,000 per month. They also have a loan of PKR 200,000, which makes it even more challenging for them to afford the surgery. During this time of need, Hikmat’s parents contacted Transparent Hands and asked for help.

Hikmat’s parents said in despair:

“We just want our daughter to live without this condition. Every parent wishes to see their child happy and healthy, but our little girl has suffered since the day she was born. Please help her in undergoing the surgery.”

Your generosity can change Hikmat’s life forever. With your support, she can undergo the much-needed surgery and finally experience the childhood she deserves. Together, we can bring hope and healing to this innocent little girl.

Let’s stand by her side and help her have a healthy life.

Hikmat Naveed's Story

Hikmat Naveed, a six-year-old girl from Lahore, had been living with immense pain and discomfort since birth. She was born with an absent anus, a condition that forced her body to expel meconium through her vaginal opening. At just five days old, Hikmat underwent a colostomy to create an alternative passage for stool. Multiple diagnostic tests, including a cystoscopy in May 2022, revealed that she had an Anorectal Malformation. Her doctors advised a critical surgery called Posterior Sagittal Anorectoplasty (PSARP) and Vaginoplasty to help her lead a normal, healthy life.

However, the cost of this surgery was far beyond her family’s reach. Hikmat lives in a modest home with her parents and siblings, where financial struggles are part of everyday life. Her father is a daily wage laborer, and her mother works as a seamstress to support the family. Together, they earn only PKR 30,000 per month. They dreamed of seeing their daughter healthy, but they couldn’t afford her treatment. During this time of need, Hikmat’s parents reached out to Transparent Hands for help. Moved by their plea, we registered her case.

On April 28, 2025, Hikmat was admitted to Evercare Hospital in Lahore. On April 29, 2025, Dr. Muhammad Mohsin performed her PSARP and vaginoplasty successfully. After receiving post-operative care, she was discharged in stable condition on May 2, 2025.

Hikmat’s parents shared their heartfelt words as follows:

"Watching our daughter suffer for years broke our hearts. Today, seeing her free from pain gives us immense relief. Your kindness has given Hikmat a future free from misery. We will forever be grateful to each person who helped make this possible."

Today, Hikmat is recovering well at home. With your support, she now looks forward to a life filled with comfort and new possibilities. Her family is incredibly grateful to you for significantly changing her life.
