Radhan Sewa's Story

Radhan Sewa, a 28-year-old woman from Ghotki, Sindh, has been suffering from pain in her upper right abdominal region for the last year. She faces repeated episodes of nausea and vomiting, especially after eating fatty meals. Due to her illness, she is unable to manage her household and care for her children. Worried about her condition, she went to a local hospital and consulted a doctor. After performing a detailed medical evaluation, the doctor diagnosed Radhan with Cholelithiasis – the deposition of hard mineral deposits in the gallbladder. To relieve her pain, the doctor has recommended laparoscopic cholecystectomy. However, the surgical cost is beyond her financial reach.

Her illness has led to poor dietary intake, which is likely to worsen over time. She may develop complications such as gallbladder infection, bile duct obstruction, or even organ damage.

Radhan lives in a tent with her husband and two children. Her husband sells balloons and makes just PKR 18,000 per month. With this meager monthly income, they barely manage to cover household expenses such as utility bills, food, and other living expenses. They face immense financial hardships and, at times, they struggle to put food on the table and manage other necessities. Despite these challenges, Radhan remains hopeful. She dreams of being healthy again  to care for her children, cook meals for her family, and live without pain. During this time of desperation, she reached out to Transparent Hands and asked for help. Radhan said with teary eyes:

“My children are still so young, and they need me. I just want to be able to care for them again without being held back by this constant pain. Kindly help me get my life back.”
