Hamza Ali's Story
Two-year-old Hamza Ali from Bahawalpur has never experienced life the way other children of his age do. Since birth, he has been struggling with shortness of breath and chest discomfort, which worsens even with the slightest physical activity. Instead of running and playing, Hamza often lies quietly, exhausted and breathless. His parents took him to a nearby hospital and consulted a doctor.
After a comprehensive examination, the doctor diagnosed Hamza with UVH (Univentricular Heart), CAVC (Complete Atrioventricular Canal), DORV (Double Outlet Right Ventricle), and Pulmonary Stenosis (PS). These conditions severely affect the structure and function of his heart. His doctor has strongly recommended open-heart surgery (CP Shunt) after Angiography as the only way to manage his condition and improve his chances of survival.
If Hamza does not undergo surgery:
His heart function will continue to deteriorate
He may experience irreversible complications
His life may be at serious risk
Hamza lives with his parents and three siblings in a modest home. His father works at a medical store and earns just PKR 15,000 per month. This amount is barely enough to cover the family’s basic needs, including utility bills of PKR 1000 and educational expenses of PKR 5,000. Moreover, they are burdened by a staggering loan of PKR 190,000. Their financial constraints make it impossible for them to pay for Hamza’s surgery. Every parent dreams of a bright future for their child, and Hamza’s parents are no different. Hamza’s parents said in despair:
“Watching our son struggle to breathe breaks our hearts every day. We want to save his him, but we don’t have the money for his surgery. We request you to be generous and kindly contribute for Hamza’s life-saving heart surgery.”
