Saima Wali's Story

Saima Wali, a 30-year-old resident of Karachi, is more than 30 weeks pregnant. This is her second pregnancy, and her heart is filled with worries. After learning about her pregnancy, she visited a doctor at a nearby hospital. Due to a history of one previous C-section, her doctor has strongly advised another elective C-section to ensure the safety of both the mother and the baby. However, the cost of the C-section is overwhelming for her family.

Without the C-section, Saima and her baby may face serious risks. A delay in surgery or attempting natural labor after a previous C-section may result in:

Uterine rupture

Fetal distress

Excessive maternal bleeding

Emergency surgical complications

Saima lives in a rented home with her husband, who drives a rickshaw to earn a modest income of PKR 30,000 per month. This amount supports six family members, including his wife, daughter, siblings, and elderly mother. With house rent of PKR 6,000 and utility bills of PKR 3,000, there’s barely anything left for groceries and emergencies. Given these limited financial means, the family is unable to afford the cost of the required surgical delivery.

Saima wants nothing more than to deliver her child safely and without complications, but time is running out. During this time of need, Saima has reached out to Transparent Hands and asked for help. Saima said with teary eyes:

“As a mother, I cannot bear the thought of risking my child’s life. I pray every day for a safe delivery, but we don’t have the means to afford the surgery. Kindly support me in undergoing the C-section.”

This is your chance to be a part of something truly meaningful. Every contribution matters, and your support can be the reason this mother embraces her newborn with joy instead of fear.
