Let’s Mend Awais’s Heart Defects with Cardiac Surgery

Muhammad Awais's Story
Muhammad Awais, a 27-year-old man from Lahore, has spent his entire life battling with breathlessness and chest discomfort. His life now is clouded by fatigue, weakness, and the constant fear that his health might take a turn for the worse. Despite these struggles, Awais continues to work as a tailor, doing his best to support his family and not let his condition hold him back.
Awais has a history of BT-shunt and open-heart surgery for total correction. However, he again faced heart-related complications. Recently, he went to a local hospital and consulted a doctor. After undergoing a detailed medical evaluation, Awais was diagnosed with severe Pulmonary Stenosis with a Dilated Right Ventricle (RV), meaning the valve that carries blood from his heart to his lungs is critically narrowed. To save his life and give him a chance to have a healthy future, the doctor has advised pulmonary valve replacement through open-heart surgery.
Without this surgery, his condition will continue to deteriorate, putting his life at risk. Delaying the procedure may lead to heart failure or even sudden complications that can be fatal.
Unfortunately, this essential surgery comes with a cost that Awais and his family simply cannot afford. Awais lives in a small rented house with four family members. Together, he and his father, who works as a laborer, bring in around PKR 48,000 each month. Out of this, PKR 15,000 goes towards rent, PKR 3,000 is spent on utility bills, and the rest barely covers food and other living expenses. They have no means left to pay for such an expensive surgery.
Awais said in despair:
“My heart condition makes every day uncertain. I try to stay strong for my family, but I know this surgery is my only hope. I just want to breathe easily again and live without constant pain. Kindly help me undergo the surgery.”
Awais is counting on your kindness. Your support can give him the hope and strength to keep moving forward. Open your hearts now and heal Awais’s heart, so he can embrace life with new hope.
