Let’s Restore Meer Hassan’s Vision With Eye Surgery

Meer Hassan Kalhoro's Story
For the past 15 years, Meer Hassan Kalhoro, a 42-year-old man from Jamshoro, Sindh, has been struggling with a visual impairment. His right eye constantly itches and turns red, and his vision has become blurry. The discomfort and impaired vision not only affect his ability to work but also make it challenging for him to care for his family. Concerned about his deteriorating eyesight, Meer Hassan consulted a doctor. After a detailed evaluation, the doctor diagnosed him with Pterygium in the right eye—a condition where tissue growth extends over the cornea, causing vision problems. The doctor has advised pterygium excision surgery to prevent further vision loss. Unfortunately, the surgical cost is overwhelming for his family.
If Meer Hassan does not undergo this surgery soon, the condition can progress. It may cause even more severe vision impairment and permanent damage to his eye. Losing his eyesight would mean losing his ability to work, pushing his family into an even deeper financial crisis.
Meer Hassan is the sole provider for his large family. He earns PKR 30,000 per month as a laborer, which is not enough to cover their essential needs. He and his family live in a rented house, paying PKR 3000 per month for rent. What makes his situation even more heartbreaking is that four of his seven children are facing mental health conditions and require constant care and medical treatment. He also has two school-going children whose education expenses amount to PKR 1400 per month. Despite his struggles, he works hard to provide for his family, but the cost of the surgery is beyond his means. During this time of need, Meer Hassan contacted Transparent Hands and asked us for help.
With deep concern in his voice, Meer Hassan said:
“I have been suffering from this eye condition for years, but I kept working because my children need me. My biggest fear is losing my eyesight completely and not being able to support my family. I ask you to help me get this surgery so I can have a healthy life.”
Your generosity can change Meer Hassan’s life, allowing him to continue being the backbone of his family. Every contribution, no matter how small, will bring him closer to the much-needed treatment. Come forward and donate to help Meer Hassan see clearly again.

Meer Hassan Kalhoro's Story
Meer Hassan Kalhoro, a 42-year-old man from Jamshoro, Sindh, had been suffering from worsening vision in his right eye for the past 15 years. His eye often turned red, and his sight gradually became blurry. His discomfort and poor eyesight took a toll on his daily life, leaving him worried and helpless. Seeking relief, Meer Hassan visited a doctor who conducted a thorough eye examination. The doctor diagnosed Meer Hassan with right eye Pterygium and advised that the only effective treatment was a pterygium excision surgery and prevent further vision loss. However, the cost of the surgery was far beyond what Meer Hassan could afford.
Meer Hassan is the sole breadwinner of his household. He earns just PKR 30,000 per month working as a laborer, barely managing to meet his family’s essential needs. The family lives in a rented house, paying a monthly rent of PKR 3,000, leaving very little for other expenses. The situation became even more challenging as four of Meer Hassan’s seven children suffer from mental health conditions that require continuous care and medical treatment, adding to the family’s financial and emotional burden. Desperate for help, Meer Hassan reached out to Transparent Hands. After listening to his concerns, we registered his case.
On April 9, Meer Hassan was admitted to Isra University Welfare Hospital in Hyderabad. Dr. Yaruq Sami successfully performed his pterygium excision surgery. Meer Hassan received post-operative care and was discharged on the same day of surgery.
Meer Hassan expressed his heartfelt gratitude as follows:
“My eyesight is clearer now. This surgery has given me hope and the strength to support my family better. I am deeply thankful to you for changing my life.”
With his vision restored, Meer Hassan is now able to provide for his family more effectively.
He expresses immense gratitude to you for your kind support.
