Adil Javed's Story

Adil Javed, a 10-year-old boy from Lahore, has spent his entire life battling with shortness of breath and chest discomfort. While other children of his age run and play freely, he struggles to catch his breath even after mild activity. Fatigue and palpitations have become a part of his daily life, stealing away the joys of childhood. Adil’s struggles began at birth, but his condition recently worsened. Concerned about his deteriorating health, his doctor conducted a detailed evaluation and diagnosed him with pulmonary hypertension and mitral stenosis (MS). It is a condition where the heart’s mitral valve becomes too narrow and restricts blood flow. To save his life, his doctor has recommended mitral valve replacement through open-heart surgery.

Without this critical procedure, his heart may continue to weaken. It may lead to severe complications such as heart failure, blood clots, or even sudden cardiac arrest. Each passing day without surgery may put his life in danger.

Adil’s life has been full of hardships. His father was imprisoned, and his mother left him behind to start a new life. His aunt brought him to the Child Protection & Welfare Bureau in Lahore, where Adil lives now. Though he has found shelter, love, and care at the bureau, he lacks the financial resources needed for his surgery. Despite his difficult past, Adil remains hopeful. He dreams of a future where he can run without gasping for air, play with his friends without feeling exhausted, and live without the constant burden of illness. But these dreams can only come true if he gets the life-saving surgery.

Adil said in despair:

“I try to stay strong, but I can’t live with this condition anymore. I want to play like other kids, but my heart doesn’t allow me. The doctors say I need surgery, but I don’t have a family who can afford it. Please, help me get better so I can have a future like other children.”

Adil’s life is hanging in the balance, but your kindness can change everything. With timely surgery, he can grow up healthy, pursue his dreams, and live the childhood he deserves. Let’s work together and give Adil the chance to live a happy and healthy life. Donate now!

Adil Javed's Story

Adil Javed, a 10-year-old boy from Lahore, had spent most of his young life battling with serious health issues. Unlike other children of his age who run, play, and enjoy an active lifestyle, Adil struggled with shortness of breath and chest discomfort. Though his symptoms had been present since birth, his condition significantly worsened in recent months. His caregivers took him to a hospital for a thorough checkup. After several tests and evaluations, the doctor diagnosed Adil with mitral stenosis and pulmonary hypertension. The only solution to improve his quality of life and prevent further complications was an open-heart surgery for mitral valve replacement.

Adil’s life had been filled with emotional and physical challenges. His father is imprisoned, and his mother left him years ago to begin a new life elsewhere. Left with no one to care for him, Adil’s aunt brought him to the Child Protection & Welfare Bureau in Lahore, where he currently lives. Despite the care he receives, the financial burden of his surgery was far beyond their means. His caregivers contacted Transparent Hands and asked for support. After learning about Adil’s story, we registered Adil’s case.

On March 10, 2025, Adil was admitted to Ittefaq Hospital in Lahore. Dr. Asim successfully performed the mitral valve replacement surgery on March 12, 2025. The procedure went smoothly, and after receiving post-operative care, Adil was discharged in stable condition on March 17, 2025.

Adil said with tears of happiness in his eyes: “I used to feel tired all the time and couldn’t play like other kids. Now I can breathe easily and run without feeling pain. Thank you for giving me a strong heart and a chance to live like a normal child.”

Today, Adil is recovering well and already showing signs of improved health. He can breathe more easily, move more freely, and smile a little brighter with each passing day.

This change in Adil’s life was made possible by your kindness.

You saved his life and he will never forget your kindness and generosity.
