Manzoor Hussain awaits PCI. Before you dwell on the painful details of Manzoor Hussain’s ailment, know that your help can make a huge change in his life. Manzoor Hussain, aged fifty five, a resident of Kasur, Punjab, has been suffering from tachycardia for the last two years. Tachycardia refers to a heart rate that’s too fast. Upon consultation, Manzoor underwent multiple diagnostic tests. After evaluating the results the doctor advised him to get an Echocardiogram. His Echo was done a year ago. His Angiography was performed three weeks ago. His Angiography reports revealed that Manzoor was suffering from Ischemic Heart Disease (IHD) and Double Vessel Coronary Artery Disease (DVCAD). Ischemic Heart Disease, also called Coronary Heart Disease (CHD) or coronary artery disease, is the term given to heart problems caused by narrowed heart (coronary) arteries that supply blood to the heart muscle. To treat this condition the Cardiologist advised to undergo a Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI). Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI) refers to a family of minimally invasive procedures used to open clogged coronary arteries (those that deliver blood to the heart). By restoring blood flow, the treatment can improve symptoms of blocked arteries, such as chest pain or shortness of breath.

Manzoor Hussain lives with his younger brother and two sisters in a village. Manzoor is unemployed due to his health condition and the only breadwinner in their family is his younger brother who works as a laborer, and hardly manages to meet both ends. Unfortunately, they cannot afford the hefty cost of this procedure. Manzoor’s brother shared distress with Transparent Hands in the following manner:

“I work as an ordinary laborer and merely earn enough to manage and provide for everyday basics. My brother is very dear to me and he is like my father to me. I cannot bear the thought  of losing him to this disease. Please be the saviours and save my brother’s heart.”
