Mehtab Awaits Hip Replacement Surgery

Mehtab Hussain's Story
Mehtab Hussain, a 28-year-old man from Ghotki, Sindh, is suffering from pain in his left hip. Due to this condition, activities like walking, sitting, or climbing stairs have become a daily struggle. Now, he cannot walk without support. He went to a local hospital and consulted a doctor. After multiple diagnostic tests, Mehtab was diagnosed with Left Hip Osteoarthritis. It is a degenerative joint disease that causes gradual damage to the hip joint, primarily due to cartilage breakdown. His doctor has recommended Left Total Hip Replacement (THR) surgery to restore his mobility and ease his pain. However, he cannot afford the costly surgery.
If Mehtab does not undergo surgery, he may experience persistent pain, which could make it more challenging for him to stand, sit, and walk. The condition may worsen over time, leading to joint deformity and further cartilage damage.
Once an active and hopeful young man, Mehtab now spends most of his time indoors. The fact that he is unable to work and contribute financially to his family weighs heavily on him.
Mehtab belongs to a humble family of eleven, with nine siblings. Their household runs solely on the income of his elder brother, who works as a laborer and earns only PKR 25,000 per month. This modest income barely covers the food, utility bills, school fees, and other daily expenses for the entire family. With so many mouths to feed and growing needs, affording a costly surgical procedure like a hip replacement is far beyond their reach.
Mehtab said in despair:
“At 28, I should be helping my family instead of being a burden on them. I feel helpless as I am unemployed due to my illness. My brother works hard but he can’t afford the cost of my surgery. I request you to help me in undergoing the surgery.
Mehtab is counting on your kindness. Your support can help him walk again, reclaim his life, and continue supporting his family. We ask you to be generous and help Mehtab take that first step towards a healthy future.
Please Note: In certain situations, we proceed with the patient's surgery/medical procedure despite incomplete funding displayed on the website. Following the surgery/medical procedure, we persist in collecting funds and maintain the campaign on the website until funding is secured in full. Hospitals have granted us a grace period for bill payment.

Mehtab Hussain's Story
Mehtab Hussain, a 28-year-old man from Ghotki, Sindh, had been suffering from severe pain in his left hip for a long time. The pain made even the simplest of tasks like walking, sitting, or climbing stairs almost impossible. Over time, his condition worsened to the point where he could no longer walk without support. Life became increasingly difficult as Mehtab struggled with each step. Mehtab visited a local hospital where, after several diagnostic tests, the doctor diagnosed him with Left Hip Osteoarthritis. To relieve his pain and restore his mobility, the doctor recommended left-sided Total Hip Replacement (THR) surgery. While this surgery provided hope for a better life, its high cost placed it far out of reach for Mehtab and his family.
Mehtab lives in a modest household with ten family members, including his parents and nine siblings. Their home runs solely on the income of his elder brother, who works as a laborer and earns just PKR 25,000 per month. With limited resources, they struggle each month to manage food, utility bills, school fees, and daily expenses. Affording Mehtab’s surgery was simply impossible for them. During this challenging time, Mehtab turned to Transparent Hands and asked for help. After listening to his concerns, we registered his case.
Mehtab was admitted to the Pakistan Society for Rehabilitation of Differently Abled (PSRD). His THR was successfully performed by Dr. Saleem Bashir on May 17, 2025. He was discharged in stable condition after receiving post-operative care on May 19, 2025.
Mehtab expressed his heartfelt appreciation as follows:
“With your support, I have found relief from my constant pain. Being able to walk again without help means the world to me. I can finally dream of living independently. I’m deeply grateful to everyone who made this possible.”
Today, Mehtab is regaining his mobility with every passing day. The intense pain no longer holds him back, and he is now hopeful about rebuilding his life. Your generosity not only helped relieve Mehtab’s suffering but also gave him the freedom to walk again. Thank you for making a lasting difference.
