Muhammad Bin Sami Ullah's Story
Muhammad Bin Sami Ullah, a 2-year-old boy from Lahore, was born into a world of silence. From birth, he showed no response to voices or everyday sounds, leaving his parents deeply worried about his future. They took him to a doctor. After several diagnostic tests, the doctor diagnosed him with congenital sensorineural hearing loss and recommended cochlear implant surgery.
Through Transparent Hands, he successfully underwent cochlear implant surgery on May 30, 2025. This life-changing procedure has finally allowed him to hear the sounds around him. Now, he can hear voices and the gentle call of his parents. However, hearing alone is not enough. He was born deaf. Therefore, he cannot yet understand or interpret different sounds or words. His doctor has now advised regular speech therapy sessions so that he can learn to recognize various sounds, and eventually begin to speak.
Muhammad Bin Sami Ullah had a successful cochlear implant surgery. However, without timely speech therapy, he may miss critical language development milestones. It may limit his ability to communicate, learn, and build relationships as he grows.
He lives in a modest home with his family. His father, a police constable, is the only breadwinner and earns approximately PKR 53,000 per month. This income just covers their basic household needs, utility bills, and grocery expenses. Unfortunately, they cannot afford the cost of his speech therapy sessions, which are crucial for his progress. Muhammad Bin Sami Ullah’s family described their emotions as follows:
“We are so thankful that he can finally hear, but he still needs help to learn how to speak and understand our words. We can’t afford his speech therapy sessions. We request you to donate and help him communicate with us.”
