Muhammad Raees Shaikh’s Knee Replacement
Muhammad Raees's Story
Before you dive into the story, we want to let you know that Muhammad Raees Shaikh is in a lot of pain right now. His financial situation is the only hurdle standing between him and the treatment he needs. Therefore, we urge you to please donate for Muhammad Raees Shaikh’s knee replacement.
For the last two years, Muhammad Raees Shaikh, a 59-year-old resident of Karachi has been suffering from Osteoarthritis involving both knees. Osteoarthritis is a condition that causes the cartilage in the knee joint to thin out. As a consequence, the surfaces of the joint become roughened and create friction. As a result, the movement becomes painful, and the joint becomes stiff. Muhammad Raees Shaikh is not able to get up or walk due to this condition. The pain has become unbearable for him.
To treat this condition, the orthopedic surgeon has advised Muhammad Raees Shaikh to undergo a total knee replacement surgery. It is a surgical procedure to replace the weight-bearing surfaces of the knee joint to relieve pain and disability. Now, he needs to undergo a bilateral knee replacement surgery. While knee replacement seems like an easy solution to all of Raees’s problems, it is certainly not an affordable solution for him. Muhammad Raees Shaikh cannot afford the hefty cost of this surgery.
Due to his deteriorating health, he is not able to work but his factory owner is giving him PKR. 15,000 per month as support. With rent and other expenses, he is not able to afford the hefty cost of his surgery.
“This disease has bound me to the bed. I feel pain even when walking. I know I can’t sit in my house doing nothing because I have a family to feed. But with this disease, it is impossible for me to work and provide for my family. Please help me get through this difficulty.” -Muhammad Raees Shaikh
After a lot of distress, Muhammad Raees Shaikh has requested Transparent Hands for help. We have assured him that we would arrange his surgery as soon as possible. Now, all we need is your help. Donate for Muhammad Raees Shaikh’s knee replacement as much as you can.
